It is weird but sometimes when I saw someone I know in a public place (like in a department store), I pretended not to see him, and hoped that he did so. Did you sometimes do this?
Of course it is rude in a way to do this but sometimes you just want to miss certain people, if you know what I mean. Some people are just like leaches.
Yeah it is kind of funny to pretend if the other person notices you. But you can always try to pull an excuses like, I didn't have my glasses with me or well, it was very dark that day - in the shopping mall.
