I know a couple who the father still has one of his kids living at home, the kid mind you is in his mid 20's right now and has a kid on the way. He is not married but does have a job. The step mother is highly confused why the father allows his son to walk all over him. Is there a time when step parents need to decide what is best for them rather than their adult kids?

I hear about these kinds of situations causing problems all the time. My wife's aunt is actually going through a divorce because of this very problem. The couple needs to communicate and agree on a course of action when dealing with the kids.

There will never be a time when a step parent making decisions like that is not going to cause a huge problem. Sounds like it is time for the father to sit down with his son and have a talk.
