Step dad over dad.

Should a child feel guilty if he/she picks their step father over their biological father? If the step father is an overall better person than the bio dad, the child shouldn't feel guilty, right?

Should they feel guilty no, but sometimes they just do. I was that way when I was younger. My step mom was a 100% improvement from my bio mother, and I quickly got over the inital guilty feeling. I am 35 now and my step mom adopted me when I was 22!

They may feel guilty whether they should or should not, as Jeff said, but really, I think it's not so much a matter of "picking" but of just recognizing that each man has different strengths, and perhaps the stepfather's are just strengths more helpful with parenting.

I think that in some cases, it is a telling sign of the child's intelligence, to be honest. In many cases, a step-father DOES turn out to be better as a father and a husband, and some kids can tell. Not better in the buys-me-more toys way, but legitimately better.
