Which gender do you think it is generally easier for a stepfather to bond with? Do you think it matters whether it is a boy or a girl, when it comes to accepting you as their new dad? They say stepsons are less accepting, because they regard their biological father as a hero who cannot be replaced...

Dynamics between people are so varied. I just don't think there are any hard and fast rules on this. Probably the best advice is to respect each step child as an individual.

I think it all has more to do with how involved the biological father is and what the ages of the kids are. My guess is that girls would be easier because the boys would resent a man taking their place as 'the man of the family'.
