Does anyone here play the stock market? I've been wanting to get into it, but I'm not really sure where to get started. I keep seeing commercials for the online trading site like eTrade. Are they any good? Do you have to know what you're doing or do they help you?

I try to keep it safe. Buying large companies like Coke or Johnson & Johnson. If I had the extra money I would look into municipal bonds. You can get tax free ones, and I think it would be hard for a city to go under and not be bailed out.

I use scottrade for my stocks. It is fairly easy and they offer training classes at their locations.
