Thanksgiving With The Kids

In the divorce decree, it states that my ex-wife will get the kids for Thanksgiving or Christmas and I'll get them for the other holiday. We didn't think that would be the best for the kids, so we worked it out so we are sharing them for both holidays. It wasn't easy, but they'll go to her family's for the noon meal and in the afternoon, they will go to my parent's with me on Thanksgiving. It's not ideal, but the kids like it that they get to spend time with each of us.

Should we get that changed through the courts or is it okay as long as we both agree?

I don't know about letting the courts know about your arrangements. I just want to say it's wonderful that you and your ex-wife have a good enough relationship to do what's best for your children. So many divorced couples don't.
