I read in a book that children is honest by nature. They learn the art of lying and deception from their own parents at home. I am a parent and I agree with that.
I agree with it, we teach them how to lie. When we are about to go on a show or invited to a social outing and they start whining to accompany us, we would sometimes tell them lies.
Yeah and I feel guilty for that, but it seems that every parent does it (well, at least most of them). Though, the fact shouldn't be an excuse for continuing to tell lies to your kids.
I do not think its always at home, kids can pick up on things almost anything from anywhere - not just home. Yes they can learn bad habits at home but not everything a child or a teen learns is from the parents alone.
It is not just parents, anyone can be guilty of this. Even when you try to be careful a littl white lie can slip out. I wonder if that is how the "white lie" word came about to start with.
