What To Do About Certain Information

First let me say, I am not a saint. I have lived and honestly a lot of what I've done, I am not proud of. I would rather my grandchildren and my 2 year old did not find out a lot of what I did in my youth until they are old enough to understand. However, my ex has decided that we all need to be reminded from time to time how wild I could be when I was a teen. I know there's not much I can do about this but what do I tell my grandkids? Should I 'fess up before the ex tells all?

I have watched movies with my kids and when a situation comes up like one I participated in I make it part of the general movie conversation. Starting with something like, "Man I wasn't that bad, I/we only or used to..." You can make it sound funny, someone else can't.
