When did your kids start to talk?

At what age do kids tend to talk? Other then things like ma.

I have been wondering this a lot lately too because my little one says many words but it will just be two or three words at a time. I have been wondering when it will be more like having a conversation.

Both of my girls were talking with conversational sentences during their 2nd year. All children are on their own timetable, but if you are concerned about a delay or something I'd talk to the pediatrician and they will head you in the right direction.

My kids started to say 2or3-syllable words around their 11th month. Pretty early I was told. By 1 year and 6 months, they were really talking. What I really liked about it was that they did not pass through baby talk stage. THANK GOD! lol

I think ours was saying things like mommy and daddy (or something close to those lines) by 1 year. All I know is she is now almost 2.5 years old and talks none stop, although she can slur her words together sometimes. The wife can understand her better then I could.
