Why can't it be easier?

I always ask myself this question. I mean, I feel that I treat my step-daughter the same as my own children but her and I just don't get along. I don't know what to do anymore. She just doesn't like me.

Because being a parent is work. When step children and fathers collide then it is time for you and your wife to sit down and create a strategy to help you bond with her. This kind of thing takes work from both parents.

Because step kids are always hoping, underneath it all, that their Mom and Dad will get back together. You are the ending of that hope and another obstacle that prevents them from reuniting and the family being happy ever after. I think that's the wish every child has when their parents split up.

It's not that she doesn't like you, but take into consideration that she probably thinks that you took her mother away from her father and are know trying to invade on his territory, these things take time kids don't react to adversity as well as adults.
