I used to play quite a bit but then my bones just couldn't take it on top of all the construction work. I think 79 was my best but that could just be a dream and not a memory.

Maybe he gave the choice to the kid. My sister lets her kids choose whether to have a party with friends or have the extra money spent on them. I really have to get them alone and tell them they'll make out better if they have a lot of friends giving them gifts!

That sounds great Miller. You're lucky to live in such a caring community. Sounds like you're turning out some pretty good people too. I wish ours was like that.

I have always heard that once you start you can't go. I don't know if it's the way they move things around but it's not something you can do just once.

They could still be waiting to hear from your insurance. This can take a while especially if you have both a primary and secondary insurance. I'm just now getting the bill for a doctor's visit in February.

I think of the kids as a church and try to put away 10% every month. Some months I make it and some I don't but if you get into the habit of thinking of college as a real thing, no matter how old they are, it makes it easier.

I think the parent should be locked in the car but I know that mistakes happen as sad as it is. I can't imagine the hell those parents are going through. I just would have preferred not to have been hit in the face with it first thing in the morning.

The smell of the puke on your clothes is the worse. I've ended up with dry heaves just from cleaning up a kid or two.

We skip story time now because the youngest is a little too old and started pointing out how dumb some of the books are. I like it when the wife takes them to get out books and movies because that's quiet time at home for me.

Our Sunday paper featured a story on an infant that died after being left in the car. I understand why people need to be informed about this but it was above the fold on the front page. Stories like that should be hidden from little eyes.

I think more parents have to be prosecuted because behavior like that starts when they're younger and punishing only the kids, especially teenagers, is not going to change the parenting behavior of those growing up now.

You could try taking them on a long walk after dinner. Do you eat early enough? Sometimes eating a late meal will keep them up because their metabolism then wants to burn through all the excess calories/energy.

The will can always be challenged and many parents don't update the part that says what will happen to their kids if the people they named get divorced, die or end up on drugs. I think a third guardian is a good idea as long as there is a contract that spells out the limited powers the third one...

"I wish I would have met you five years ago but the right one came along and now I'm stuck." Not that I feel stuck but I'd make it into a joke.

My favorite episode was on last night. It's the Christmas one with a ripoff of Glee. Abed is cool. I usually online watch the show during repeats on the off season.
