    Making Travel Plans

I usually use Expedia to at least find flights and hotels, and then I might go to the airline's and hotel's websites to see if it's cheaper to buy directly from them. Expedia often helps me find deals by stringing together different airlines, though. How do you book tickets and make travel plans?

    Walking the dog

I agree with SamMo, the purpose of walking a dog is not to just get the dog out of the house, but to actually WALK it and let it burn some energy. I would never accept this in place of REALLY walking my dog.

    Dogs in the Bed

Do you let dogs sleep in the bed with you or your kids? I don't have a problem with it, and have always let dogs I owned in the bed with me, but my wife isn't having it.

    Too Much

Kids are a handful as it is, and if she's doing any work or even managing the house on top of it, it can get out of hand really fast. It can be done, obviously; I know a mother with 4 month old twins and a 2 year old right now! She has lots of support, though. Make sure your wife is keeping her...

    Split Time

Congrats! It's really nice when a happy medium can be reached. In my experience, Christmas Eve can be just as if not more exciting than Christmas Day - so make it special and enjoy your holidays!

    Fussy eaters.

We have a fussy eater, and we just deal with it. Separate potato salad with no onions, separate cole slaw with no raisins, serve up her salad with no tomatoes. It's a bit hard to remember all the time, but by wife somehow manages.

    Here At Last!

I wait until after Black Friday to even start to make my list of people to give gifts to. It's going to be a tight Christmas this year, so it'll have to be a short list. I'm glad I can pool money with my wife so we can give combined gifts to some friends and family.

8 year old and Britney spears

It will pass eventually when newer and more popular songs come around, but if you're really worried about her possibly believing the messages of this song or any other songs that she starts singing, perhaps you should try to talk to her about how invested she really is in those lines of thought...

What Do You Do With Kids' Gift Cash?

Whenever I got cash as a gift as a kid, my parents put it into a savings account for college for me. I might get a little bit of it, but mostly it went to savings. Do you do anything like this, or do you let your kids spend it - and if so, how do you monitor how they spend it?

    Not grateful?

I once had a nephew who was expecting a certain gift because his sister had told him it was what he would probably get. He got some pretty awesome and expensive gifts, but not what he was expecting, and threw a tantrum. It took a day for him to realize that he had gotten some wonderful things...

    Family reunion

Family reunions have always been fun, in my experience. It's really great when family members make the effort to come however far they have to to be together. Enjoy!

    Holiday Overeating

As I sit here completely stuffed from one of the Thanksgiving meals I just had, I have to wonder, do you all feel good about the amount of overeating we do during the holidays? It guess since it's just twice a year, it's not too bad, but is it really necessary?

Does it have to be pumpkin?

I've seen apple pie on Thanksgiving, definitely. I'm not a fan of apple pie though, whereas I love pumpkin pie, so I'm always sure to find a slice of pumpkin somewhere on turkey day.

    Timing is everything!

That's awesome; congratulations and it really couldn't have come at a better time. I know a few guys who could use that help right now - I'm glad you got it when you needed it.

    Cakes from school.

Depends on the type of cake, I guess. I pretty much each anything if I'm hungry enough - as long as it tastes all right, I guess I'm willing to take my chances.

Not Going Overboard for First Christmas

As this will be my first Christmas as a step-father, I'm tempted to buy anything and everything for my step-daughter. I know that I shouldn't, though, for many reasons including my wallet, not spoiling her, and not outdoing her biological family. How can I be sure that I'm buying a gift or gifts...

    Finding a sitter

Do you have any friends or coworkers with teens old enough to trust as sitters? This is what we do if time is tight with family. Otherwise, sometimes there are sitter agencies for an area if you look in the phone book.

    Extended Family Dynamics

Does anyone have more than just father, mother, and kids living in their house? Any uncles, aunts, even grandparents who perhaps are helping out with raising the kids? I've met many families like this and it's interesting to see how much more effective some households can be with more people in...

    Home Schooling

No one in my family was ever home schooled, but hearing and experiencing some of the things I do makes me think homeschooling will become MUCH more popular in the near future. I have friends who teach who admit that they're so pressed with requirements that they can't really teach at the level...

    Christmas Gifts for Pets?

I love that the cat gets canned food as a gift. I know so many people who make canned food a regular thing for their cats or dogs, and while I don't think it's "bad" for the animal in any way, I do feel like I couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a pet, no matter how loved.
