Friends with dads or non dads?

Do you prefer your friends be dads or that they not have children of their own? I prefer the latter since it seems that dads usually try to prove that their child is the best, which gets really old really fast.

    Unexpected visits.

So my mother in law decided it was a good idea to drop by unannounced, don't get me wrong she is a pleasant person, but I hate it when people just drop by and think that I can work around my schedule to please them.

    First child scares?

I remmeber that when me and my wife were having our first baby, we would freak out over anything and everything and seems like a lot of new parents are the same. Were/are you like that?

Kids dating someone you don't like?

What do you do when one of your kids is dating somebody who you don't like, but you just can't put your finger on the reason. I usually try to get to the bottom of it, my gut instinct rarely fails me, but my kids don't trust it as much as I do.

    Concerts alone?

What do you think is the right age to let kids go to concerts alone, without adult supervision? I know how the scene was when I was growing up and I don't think it has gotten better since.

    Deciding what to watch?

Monday night is movie night in our family, we all gather together and watch a movie together as a family. We decided that each of us gets to pick a movie on the week that falls into their turn. How do you decide what to watch in your family?

    Fast food, how often?

How often do you eat fast food? We almost never eat it, since both me and my wife like cooking, so it's not really an issue, but we have friends who have it at least once a day, seven days a week.

    Trips without the kids.

Well the kids can take care of themselves now, but back when they were younger I'd ask my brother to watch over them from time to time so I can get some away time with wife, needless to say we were and still are much more relaxed and productive after these 1-2 day trips :). It also helps in...

    Can you keep a diet?

I have been put on a veggie diet myself, but I just can't lay off the meat. I keep thinking if I wasn't supposed to eat it, than why is it so darn tasty?

    Saving up vacation time?

Do you tend to take them out all year around or save up for big trips? I sometimes put in over time which I can exchange for payed day's off. This way I have around 3-4 weeks saved up vacation time for the summer.

    Do you cook or?

Or you know the one meal that every guy knows how to make and leave the rest to the wife? In my defense I know about three meals, but anything beyond that is beyond my comprehension.

    Your biggest fear?

It has been a long time since I have been in the situation, but I still remember that the thing I was more afraid of than anything is that they will be born with some kind of sickens. It scared the hell out of me that my children might not be able to enjoy their lives to the fullest extent.

One hundred movies every guy should see.

I was browsing around to find some inspiration about what movies I should rent and came across this list. While the author does have all the signs of somebody trying too hard, it's a pretty decent list, to bad I have seen them all.

What would you do without caffeine?

I can manage without it since I never got hooked on it back in college, but well my wife unfortunately did and boy, you shouldn't mess with her before she had her morning coffee. So how do you react when you don't get your fix?

    Life insurance policy?

I have one and the wife has one to. We made sure that no matter what happens the kids and the one left alone won't have any problems from a financial point of view. Do you have an insurance police for both of you, or do you think that's just overkill?

    Fixing things.

Do you fix the things in your house, or do you call a handyman to do it for you? For me it depends on the size of the work, but unless it's a huge overhaul I prefer to do my own maintenance, first off it's free and you tend to do a better job for yourself than for somebody else.

    Cartoons dumbing down kids?

I switched on cartoon network the other day, and saw something that looked like somebody took a couple of bricks and drew some faces on them and animated it, not to mention the story being big jumble of nonsense.

    Too old or too lazy?

Are we exercising and moving less because we are getting too old or are we just lying to ourselves and trying to ignore the fact that we are getting a little lazy and just don't want to workout?

    Too many parenting books?

Knowledge is power, but there has to be a point where it's just too much. Seems like there are tons of books on the subject and they seem to contradict themselves.
