My male friend just told me that he is going to be a dad, with the phrase 'we are pregnant'. I don't know why exactly but it just sounds kind of odd. Am I alone in thinking this?

Thanks for the replies. I feel torn between limiting how much they can eat as I would hate to make a big deal out of 'bad' and 'good' foods. I know that things you can't have can become more important in your mind. Maybe it is worth asking people to limit the candy, or replace it with other things.

Ron, I like your attitude but your wife and family are going to need some convincing that you are okay! Are you going to think about diet and exercise as things to help with the problem? Stay well and calm!

This is an incredibly sad story, I feel for the son who managed to escape. I guess the others were too small to even try to save themselves. I can only hope that his instinct to survive will see him through this.

Now I want a man cave! My dad used his garden shed as a hideout, but I make do with a padded recliner in the sun room. The kids used to like to sit on it when they were younger because it is much bigger than the other chairs.

I am going to encourage them to find their own way and do something they are interested in. It's hard to balance quality time with the stress and negativity I bring home sometimes.

You have to balance this latest 'risk' against the good it can do you to have a few drinks with friends. I can't imagine the miserable life people would lead if they tried to follow the directives we are bombarded with every week.

If you have a daughter do you avoid answering any questions that relate to the facts of life? Mine is still young but the other day she asked the usual kid questions after see-ing a pregnant woman in the store. I told her to ask her mother, though I think that's probably not the best approach.

Salazar, maybe it's time to add this new work to your resume and find a position where you can be happier? Or speak to your manager? Sometimes things which start as crisis reactions just get forgotten about.

Personally I don't think it makes a massive difference when you get help and advice. I've seen marriages come through some incredibly bad times and be repaired afterwards. In my case the cracks were there from the start. We just chose to ignore them!

Mine were born fairly close together so I didn't have your concern. We did make every effort to include the oldest with things and answer any questions. At six I imagine it is going to be quite different though.

Even though I have no particular health problems I decided to have a general check done. Turns out I have a slightly higher than average cholesterol level, and it may be reduced if I change my diet. Who knew!
