    Preferred Meal on The Go?

For breakfast, I would probably choose a Pop Tart or a cereal bar (my daughter loves cereal bars). For lunch, it'd probably be cheese toast or a turkey sandwich and chips.

    Saying no

You don't say how old your daughter is, but if she's around ten or older, I don't see the problem. Unless, of course, you don't allow her soda either. Because the way I see it, one is no worse for a child than the other.

    "Wants" vs "Needs"

Yeah, I think ten is way too young for a cell phone. And I think that "because all the other kids have one" excuse isn't good enough. When I choose to give my daughter a cell phone, it'll be because she's going out with friends, so I'll have instant contact with her whenever I want. And she...

    Carpal tunnel?

I would think a hand and wrist brace, pain reliever and an occasional soak in very warm (as hot as you can stand) water would ward off most discomfort. When it gets to the point that these steps don't work, it's time to see a doctor.

Do you watch more television in the Winter?

I would say that I watch more television in the winter. I'm not the type that likes being outside in the cold, so during winter, I pretty much hibernate. That means lots of television and tons of computer.

    Junior?

I've never cared for the surname Junior. Even though the boys' name may be Samual Adams Jr., people still seem to want to call him just Junior. And I personally think Junior is an awful name.

    Teaching Children to Drive

At what age do you begin to teach your children to drive? My daughter is 12 and we've been doing regular trips up and down our street. She's very mature and tall for her age, and besides, I'm sitting right there beside her should anything go wrong. She's actually very good. When I was 12, I...

    Physical punishment

I agree with both of you guys. I think there is a time for physical punishment, and times when only physical punishment will work. My dad swatted my behind a few times and even used a switch (a small piece of a tree limb) on me once, and I think I've turned out to be a productive member of...

    Ice cream delights

That sounds like a great idea for the younger children. I used to do that when my daughter was little. Now, she just gets what she wants, and it's usually a simple dish of ice cream.

    Birthing Suites

I remember just 12 years ago, how nice my wife's room was. The floor was hardwood, there was nice mohagany paneling on the walls and nice comfy chairs to sit in. Have there been any changes in the past 12 years?

    Do you go?

Absolutely! I think the birth of a new baby is something that both parents should be involved in. When our dads were soon-to-be-fathers, most times they weren't even allowed in the delivery room. So I feel lucky to be there.

    Buying clothes

Yeah, once they get a certain age, they seem to take an interest in what everyone else is wearing. My daughter used to be comfortable in a pair of stretch slacks, but now it's nothing but ripped and torn jeans.

    Walking

I personally think walking is one of the best exercises a person can do. It's not hard on the joints like running is, and just about everyone can do it. I used to walk all the time, but I gradually quit. I need to get back into it.

    Car seat or booster?

I agree with BigMac. It's not really about age but height and weight. Some ten year old would fit into a booster seat, others are big enough for a regular seat belt.

    Girls vs Boys

I only have one child, a daughter. Like you, she comes to me when she needs something or when she wants to go somewhere. She goes to her mother for comforting and "crying time."

    Fueding Cousins

Is it normal for cousins to be mad at each other. It seems my daughter and her cousin are mad at each other one moment, and the next, they're best friends. I just don't get it.

    Hobbies?

I like to do woodworking. I have a shop with tons of woodworking tools and saws, and I've made a lot of the furniture that is in my house. Bookcases, end tables and night stands are some of my most notable creations.

    one-on-one time

I love spending one on one time with my daughter. We've gone to the zoo together, just the two of us, and also to the movies. I'm looking forward to new adventures, just she and I.

    Family portraits

Yeah, I remember several years ago when our family went and had pictures done. I've always thought I look dorky in pictures, but the ones of my wife and daughter turned out beautifully.

    Rap

My daughter loves rap music, but so do her mother and I. Do you think it's appropriate even though we make sure to carefully screen out anything that uses bad language?
